Industry-leader Callaway Golf has introduced performance-enhancing technologies that both amateur and professional players have come to rely on. Two of these technologies are Variable Face Thickness Technology, which creates a thin face for more power, and S2H2, which repositions the clubhead’s weight for a deeper center of gravity.

Both of these technologies have been engineered into the Callaway FT-i Squareway Wood, a square-shaped wood with the most forgiveness of any Callaway club. What’s exclusive to the Squareway is the oversized, square head with weighting distributed to the club’s extremes. The result is a wood that delivers forgiveness, stability, accuracy, and distance.

The best fairways woods are built for distance control during long drives and handling the rough. The Callaway FT-i Squareway Wood does just that with its specially designed shape and classic Callaway technology.

The wood’s name suggested two of its key features: its Fusion Technology, or FT, and its Squareway Inertial Design. Callaway engineers use FT to create clubheads made of multiple materials; the crown is made of carbon composite, while the body and sole is made of stainless steel. The result is a higher moment of inertial and deeper center of gravity. With Squareway Inertial Design, much of the clubhead’s weight is repositioned at the far corners, which nearly prevents twisting.

Callaway-exclusive Variable Face Thickness, or VFT, technology creates a face with a thicker center and thinner edges, enabling more power to transfer to the ball. S2H2 technology removes weight from the hosel and repositions it at the club’s perimeter for great distance and better feel.

The Callaway FT-iZ Fairway Woods come in 15-, 18-, and 21-degree lofts with Fujikura Sakura Graphite shafts and a swing weight of D2.

The Callaway FT-i Squareway Wood has many features that lady golfers love. With its light weight and easy handling, the wood does not have a steep learning curve like some other fairway woods and hybrids. The single most frequent comment about this club is how easy it is to hit. It “offers golfers the distance and accuracy that everyone has come to expect from a Callaway club.” Ladies will appreciate the wood’s ability to get balls from the rough or fairway onto the green with fewer strokes.

While the wood’s square shape may be a little out of the norm for some players, many golfers came to appreciate the club’s great performance. Players were able to achieve better distance and more accurate shots with this Callaway wood.
