Most of today’s women’s golf clubs are designed by golf brands that once exclusively catered to men, and few companies specifically focus on clubs and accessories for women. For the purposes of this article, we will be comparing one of the most notable golf lines to cater exclusively to women, Nancy Lopez Golf, to the top name in golf overall, Callaway Golf.
Lopez’ exclusivity to the needs of female golfers goes up against the award-winning and often-changing designs of Callaway’s clubs. While many of Callaway’s women’s lines have similar designs to its men’s lines, it’s hard to ignore a company that creates products that earn top awards every year. Callaway’s forged composite material, Variable Face Thickness technology, Velocity Slot technology are far more than fancy names; many golfers find these improvement offer them a real advantage on the course.
For some lady golfers, Lopez may offer clubs that are a better fit. For instance, lady golfers with a slower-than-average swing speed may benefit from a driver with a higher loft; Lopez offers drivers with a 16 degree loft that ladies won’t find with Callaway products. Also, women who want to more precise control of a smaller clubhead will find Lopez’s standard drivers to be smaller than the seemingly now-standard 460cc head that is a hallmark of Callaway drivers.
However, women without the need for some of these specifications unique to a women-specific golf line will likely benefit from the upgrade to a golf line that has the research, years of experience, and most advanced technology behind it. Callaway Golf provides the latest advancements in the golf game, including lines that offer the most forgiveness for improving players, as well as lines with clubs modeled off of tour players for the greatest control for experience lady golfers.
